Washing away those dirty surfaces

Are you tired of the mold and mildew on your vinyl siding?

Have black streaks started forming on your roof shingles?

If you want your home to shine like new again, West Creek Pressure Washing might be the answer.

The Newburg business, which has been operating in both Cumberland and Franklin counties the past three years, specializes in residential and commercial pressure washing services.

"I enjoy making stuff look like new again," said 21-year-old Jason Halteman, owner of West Creek Pressure Washing.

The Shippensburg native grew up on the family farm and said pressure washing is just something he grew up doing.

"I wanted to make an investment in something," he said about becoming a small business owner.

Halteman, who runs the business by himself, does everything from exterior house washing and concrete, brick and wood restoration to deck washing and sealing, roof streak removal and window cleaning.

He also specializes in truck and fleet washing.

In addition, West Creek Pressure Washing offers vehicle decal removal and aluminum acid washing, as well as other surface cleaning services.

Safe products

The biggest concern most people have about pressure washing services is the chemicals used in the treatment process, according to Halteman.

At West Creek Pressure Washing, a blend of detergents are used that will not harm outdoor plants or the environment, he explained.

"We take extra precautions," he said, noting that plants are rinsed off before and after every job. "It's all EPA regulated."

For roof work, West Creek Pressure Washing does no pressure washing and just uses chemicals that are safe for the roof.

A typical job will take between three and four hours and cost between $150 and $300, Halteman noted.

If requested, the business does have a 600-gallon water tank that can be brought on site to complete the work.
